Vision

Our Goals and Hopes.

• We tell present and future generations the story of the "The Girls of Room 28" and encourage them to share our values and to engage in our - or similar projects - in a creative way. We keep alive the legacy of the "The Girls of Room 28" and the legacy of the Theresienstadt ghetto and remember the extraordinary cultural works and achievements of many ghetto-inmates.

• With our educational project and all it encompasses we convey the wealth of experience, information, historical knowledge and ideas of the story of these girls. It can be used as an educational tool across Europe and around the world. The story of these girls is more than just a chapter of the Holocaust. It is about the importance of art, music, creativity, friendship, ethical values and memory - remembering for the future.. See: Educational value.

• We want to anchor and unite all that belongs to the Room 28 Projects - publications, exhibitions, the extensive Room 28 media archive (sound and image), teaching material - in a special location apt to convey the story of these girls to younger generations. The establishment of a permanent exhibition or a central - digital or concrete platform (location) for our educational project is a necessary step for a future-oriented remembrance in our society.

• We will connect our project with the amazing work that was done in Brazil. There, a new exhibition was created in 2014, and with it a rather exemplary educational project began. Numerous school classes were able to visit the exhibitions in São Paulo, Brasilia, Porto Alegro, Rio de Janeiro and Recife. They were guided through the exhibition by a trained team. The students took part in various workshops. This resulted in many new creations - i.e postcards to the "Girls of Room 28" or flags based on the flag of the girls and their small organization "Ma'agal". See: International exhibitions
  

In order to achieve all this, we need to strengthen the Association Room 28 e.V. We need to put it on solid financial grounds, to establish a staff and a team for various fields of acvtivites and to forster cooperation with congenial partners in the educational field. There is more on the website of the NPO Room 28, so far only in German.
