School Projects

Since the first perfomrance of the play "The Girls from Room 28" in Freiburg in 2003 and 2004, and especially since the publication of the book and the exhibition in 2004, there have been numerous school or extracurricular projects in which the story of "The Girls of Room 28" played a role. Project 2023: Brundibár children's book


Our current project - June 2023 - is the publication of a children's book about the story of the childen's opera Brundibár. This is a project together with the Music publisher Boosey & Hawkes - Bote & Bock and Edition Room 28 . More on: Participate.   

 

The German and Ukrainian editions of the children's book - they are expected to be published by September 2023 - open up new scope for artistic and educational work and invite you to get involved. With this children's book, our  Offers  are being  extended by a particularly valuable element. I am sure that the children's book will inspire new projects in the educational and creative realms.. We will set up a special team for this.

Handa Pollak. School Project in Portugal


At the Escola Secundaria da Maia in Portugal a model project was realized in 2019-2020 on the initiative of the teacher Sandra Costa. The focus of the project was Brundibar  and one of the "Girls of Room 28",  Handa Pollak, who lives in Israel, 92 years old. Find out more on the menu  Handa Pollak

The Room 28 Educational Project is planned to be the central realm of activities of the NPO Room 28. However: the association must be put in a position to take over the management and development of this educational project and everything that goes with it, especially the maintanance and development of the exhibition, communication with schools and with people active in the field of art and culture interested in our Offers.  

This means to establish an active team and secure financial support for the organization on a stable basis. So far all the work was done by me alone, including creating and writingh the connected websites. - This is why it is necessary that the process of transformation can be realized in 2023-2024.
